BOURBON CHILI

Bold and rich, a chili made with Wight’s Old Reserve Bourbon.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Deliciously sweet and savory, our chili is a fan favorite. Enjoy the distillery and rickhouse aromas coming off your sauté pan after adding the Bourbon.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 oz Wight’s Old Reserve Bourbon
  • 1 cup finely diced sweet onion
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2.5 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¾ cup water

How to prepare:

  1. Lightly sauté onions with olive oil.
  2. Add and brown the ground beef.
  3. Add 3 oz Wight’s Old Reserve. Stir well as the meat absorbs the Bourbon. Stop and enjoy the incredible rickhouse aroma.
  4. Add all other ingredients and stir well. It helps to add the water last and then stir so the spices mix evenly.
  5. Simmer on low heat for around 30 minutes or until desired consistency is achieved.
