BOURBON CHILI
Bold and rich, a chili made with Wight’s Old Reserve Bourbon.
Deliciously sweet and savory, our chili is a fan favorite. Enjoy the distillery and rickhouse aromas coming off your sauté pan after adding the Bourbon.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 oz Wight’s Old Reserve Bourbon
- 1 cup finely diced sweet onion
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 6 oz tomato paste
- 1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2.5 tbsp dark brown sugar
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¾ cup water
How to prepare:
- Lightly sauté onions with olive oil.
- Add and brown the ground beef.
- Add 3 oz Wight’s Old Reserve. Stir well as the meat absorbs the Bourbon. Stop and enjoy the incredible rickhouse armoma.
- Add all other ingredients and stir well. It helps to add the water last and then stir so all of the spices mix evenly.
- Simmer on low heat for around 30 minutes or until desired consistency is achieved.
